Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen have made the news for good reasons and for bad. It seemed a year ago that you could not swing a cat (don’t hate on me cat lovers) without hearing a story about these two child hood stars turned adult celebrities. Now they are back in the fashion news with the award of membership to the “Council of Fashion Designers of America“. They are among thirty-one new members inducted this year. Their fashion designs which have been panned by the critics as being bag lady style.

Their lines are very successful and are known as “Elizabeth and James” as well as “The Row”. It is not typical that celebrities make it into the council so the designing world has really embraced these two new designers. A couple of other notables going in with the Olsen Twins are Alexander Wang and Jason Wu. Pretty cool company in my humble opinion.
