Arnel Pineda lived the hard life in the Philippines. He raised himself after his mother died when he was 13. He had a strong sense of himself and his ability to sing. He made his way in an unorthodox fashion by singing with his band in the Philippines and Hong Kong but was discovered on YouTube by Neil Scholn of Journey .
